Morristown Ice Hockey versus Roxbury, 12/7/98

After a slow start, Morristown beat Roxbury 6-3 in our season opener. 

 

The sole goal in the first period was a short handed goal by Steve Markowitz, off a pass from PJ Scriff and Brian Flaherty.

In the second period, Roxbury tied it up, and then PJ Scriff got a goal, with an assist from Markowitz and Jeff Atkins.  Again, Roxbury tied it up.  Still in the second, Scriff got his second goal, with an assist to Jeremy Nacer.

In the third period, Atkins scored with the assist to Nacer. This was followed by a third goal by Scriff, with assist to Markowitz, and Nacer, his third assist of the game. The last Morristown goal, a powerplay goal,  was scored by Ryan Udall, a freshman on his first High School shift.  Coming off a pass from Markowitz (his third assist), Udall scored from the point.  He received a loud standing ovation.

Dan Markowitz played the entire game in net, turning aside 21 of 24 shots.   Morristown had 31 shots on Phil Torr, the Roxbury goalie.
