1. Make an appointment to see your DR. ASAP.
This is EXTREMELY important – especially if you are sensitive to the poison ivy irritant.
Allergic reactions could be life threatening in extreme cases and you shouldn’t fool around with it.
     a. Doctors can prescribe the latest wonder creams to treat the poison ivy symptoms.
     b. Doctors can also prescribe strong antihistamines and steroid medications to control your allergic reactions.

Before you go any further ... please be aware that we are not Doctors and if you try the remedy that I tried - you're on your own ... meaning - WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY REACTION that you may have trying our method!!! Be aware that the MANUFACTURERS OF CASCADE clearly state on their packaging that their product is an EYE AND SKIN IRRITANT AND CONTAINS PHOSPHATES!! Now that you have been CLEARLY FORWARNED let me tell you about my experience

2. Stop the cycle!! ASAP
If you do not remove the poison ivy oil – it will continue to irritate you.
Many people think that poison ivy spreads ... not true. Its oil can be spread if it’s still on your shirt or chair – or dog – but not the rash by itself. What happens there, is that the areas that receive less poison ivy sap, take longer to react but WILL eventually, break out into the rash!
In fact – if this is your first exposure .. your rash might not even begin for 7 – 10 days after contact! So you should start “sloughing” right away - starting with the unaffected parts of your body first!
     a. I used moist paper towels (so that I could have clean ones for each problem area) dipped into a dish of CASCADE during a nice HOT shower. Yes – automatic dishwasher detergent!!
They say that you need to use a soap that cuts though grease and oil ... and we already know that we need to exfoliate the dead surface skin to which the sap has bonded... so .... although the maufactures would not recommend this - it did work for me!

     b. I patted myself dry and applied one of the miracle creams that I got from my DR.
     c. Ahhhhhhhhhh.................. this made me feel MUCH BETTER .. for a while ...

I found that repeating the HOT CASCADE shower at least twice a day and using the ice when ever I needed it .. got me through my 36 hours of hell!
